…And now back to our regular scheduled programming…

It seems most people think of raccoons as pests but when I seen one, I melt. I think they are one of the cutest animals ever. I think I might say that too much though…^-^

I know they can be scoundrels and get into our garbage cans etc, but its only because construction more than likely has invaded their homes or they just decide to venture into the city when all is sleeping. They are smart little rascals. and realize where we the humans are, there will be food. So in the wee hours of the night the nocturnal cuties like to dumpster dive, make messes and get into all sorts of trouble. I love how they are literally masked like the little criminals they are.

My sister in law Lisa has a little family living in a tree right outside her deck. I can’t wait to check them out hopefully get a few pictures of some myself!

Have any of you had any encounters with the cute little bad asses?

well i LOVE the look of them, but they sure can be a lot of trouble!

i was walking home w/some friends after we went to a concert one night, and we saw this giant THING getting into the trash. it was HUGE. i swear, it was the size of a small bear (slight exaggeration). the thing had to weigh 30 or 40 lbs. it was a RACCOON. and it was going to town. it looked like it could (and had) eat a human baby. it was SO FAT! but cute. but kind of creepy.

Although they are supposedly pests that can carry disease, I still think raccoons are ridiculously adorable! Have fun watching the little family in your sister's tree!
